Trail Runner | Aspiring Ultra Runner | IBS Sufferer
Liam (@liamsoutdooradventures): “I never let my condition defeat me, I’ll always go out for a run in the end. Even if it’s means that sometimes I get cut short whilst out on a run (there’s plenty of bushes when you’re trail running😂).
“My advice for other people with IBS, is experiment with different foods and work out what sits well, especially before and during a run. Try real food instead of gels!
“Also something I’ve overlooked is stress; I’ve always thought food was the main factor for IBS flare ups. But, in my case stress is the biggest contributor on a long run. My advice is to keep an eye on your breathing, stay relaxed! It something I’m personally still working on.”
